Project Description

id8 Studio, Display Stands, Microsoft Award Winner

The client’s brief was to not only drive preference and purchase intent for Windows as first choice operating system but to rationalize range and employ appropriate signage so that consumers felt confident and empowered to navigate and shop the PC aisle.

Microsoft went on the journey with us to design a permanent Windows “store in store” display that would “appeal to the head, as well as the heart”. This was to be a ground breaking display for the Windows brand and OEM partners, one of which had not been done before in this format. Originally budgeted for 24 stores, by June 2015 it would have grown to 46 stores Australia wide and 2 in New Zealand due to the great retailer backing from JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman stores.

This was achieved through a clean and modern design with updatable components that talked to the consumer. Flexibility included updatable light box’s, Fact Tags, columns, tablets, large screens and slat wall. In addition incorporating live media streaming and integrated cross platform software the display created a visually dynamic “Hub” store environment for Windows. To add to the success of the display we won one of the top POPAI awards being “Permanent display of the year 2014”.

Clients comments on the results:  “We are hugely impressed and encouraged from the retail performance of the zone so far. From a shopper dynamics perspective the area does an impressive job of not only attracting consumers to the zone, but also encouraging them to pick up/try and interact with our devices. So far our retailers love the zone, in fact one Senior Retail Executive stated “this is the best in store execution I have ever seen in my time in retail”. Overall sales results have exceeded our expectations.”
